‘Changes to Canon 3’ explored online by MJI Nov. 10

The Michigan Judicial Institute will present the webinar “Changes to Canon 3: Facilitating Litigant’s Ability to Be Heard” on Tuesday, November 10, from noon to 1 p.m. via Zoom.

One of the recent updates to Canon 3 of the Michigan Code of Judicial Conduct deepens the judiciary’s commitment to ensuring all litigants, including self-represented litigants, are heard.

This webinar will highlight key changes to Canon 3, outline the tools and strategies available to judicial officers when presiding over cases involving at least one self-represented litigant, and encourage participants to consider the court-user perspective as they continue to cultivate practices that facilitate the ability of all litigants to be fairly heard.

This webinar is eligible for continuing judicial education (CJE) credit 1.0 [Integrity & Demeanor].
