Commissioner Scott elected to MAC Executive Committee
Oakland County Commissioner John A. Scott was elected as a vice chair for the Executive Committee of the Metropolitan Affairs Coalition (MAC). He will work with many community, business and government leaders to build consensus and seek solutions to regional issues as a part of MAC. As a member of MAC, Scott will promote regional cooperation and work to develop programs that will enhance the region's economic vitality.
Scott in not new to regional leadership, as he currently serves as the Southeastern Michigan Council of Governments Chairman.
The Metropolitan Affairs Coalition (MAC), a non-profit public/private partnership, is the only group that brings business, labor and government together to build consensus and seek solutions to regional issues. It promotes regional cooperation and dialogue, and works to advance policies and develop programs that enhance the region's economic vitality and quality of life. With its partner organization SEMCOG, the Southeast Michigan Council of Governments, and the diverse perspectives of its members, MAC is uniquely positioned to be a catalyst for change and help move the region and state forward.
"I am very proud to be a part of an organization that is looking to move the region forward by seeking solutions that will enrich our economic climate through collaboration," stated Scott, a 9-year veteran of the Oakland County Board of Commissioners.
Scott is a Republican who represents the communities of Keego Harbor, Lake Angelus, Sylvan Lake, Waterford Township and West Bloomfield Township in District 5.
