Local attorneys to speak on 'Lawfare' at AJC event
The American Jewish Committee (AJC) Detroit's Attorney Division is proud to present "Lawfare: A Growing Threat for Israel and the West" on Wednesday, May 23, from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at the Max M. Fisher Federation Building by local attorneys Ken Gold and Todd Mendel, and Brussels-based Daniel Schwammenthal.
Gold is an attorney at Honigman, Miller, Schwartz, and Cohn LLP and is a past president of AJC-Detroit. Their presentation will focus on recent uses of lawfare and how best to combat the practice.
There will be a special briefing by Daniel Schwammenthal, director of AJC's Brussels-based TransAtlantic Institute--where the Council of the European Union is headquartered and works to facilitate relationships between the EU, the U.S. and Israel. A native of Germany, Schwammenthal was an editorial page writer and op-ed editor of Wall Street Journal Europe from 2004 until joining AJC in 2011.
