Panel to discuss recently passed proposals

The Jewish Family Services Legal Referral Service will present “Beyond the Ballot: You Voted. They Passed. Now What?” on Law Day, Wednesday, May 1, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Knollwood Country Club, 5050 W. Maple Rd. in West Bloomfield.

A panel discussion will look at Michigan’s recently passed proposals.  Oakland County 47th District Court Judge Marla Parker will speak on Proposal 1—marijuana legalization; attorney Dorian Tyus will speak on Proposal 2—redistricting; and attorney Erica Peresman will speak on Proposal 3—voter registration initiatives.

Light appetizers will be served.  Dietary laws will be observed.

Since 2007, the Legal Referral Service has helped those JFS serves during their greatest time of need, connecting them with attorneys and law firms in the fields of family and elder law, probate, debt resolution and bankruptcy, and others.

The event is free of charge but registration is requested by April 22. To register, contact Emily Croitori at 248-592-2317 or ecroitori@jfsdetroit.org.
