'Overview of Drug & OWI Forfeiture Laws' presented

As part of its Traffic Safety Training Program, the Prosecuting Attorneys Association of Michigan will present an “Overview of Drug & OWI Forfeiture Laws” online Tuesday, April 12, from 9 a.m. to noon via Zoom.

This webinar will cover Michigan’s OWI and Drug Forfeiture Laws. In effect since 1999, the OWI Vehicle Forfeiture Law is often underutilized.  In this webinar, prosecutors will learn how to effectively implement this law in their offices.  Prosecutors will also get up-to-date changes to the Drug Forfeiture Law and how these changes will affect how they handle these cases.

Speaking during the webinar will be Chief Assistant Prosecutor Stephen Guilliat from the St. Clair County Prosecutor’s Office and Chief Assistant Prosecutor Eric Wanink from the Tuscola County Prosecutor’s Office.

There is no charge to attend the webinar but attendees must register in advance.  To register, visit www.michiganprosecutor.org and click on “training.” After registering, attendees will receive a confirmation email from Zoom with instructions on how to join the webinar.

This webinar will be recorded. Those who are unable to attend this webinar at the scheduled time but would still like to watch it should go ahead and register as indicated.  Everyone who is registered will receive a link to the recording of the webinar regardless of whether or not they attended.

This course is approved for 3 hours of credit under PAAM’s recommended CLE Best Practice. The training handouts, if any, will be made available the day of each webinar.

Anyone with questions or in need any assistance registering for the webinar should contact Amy Gronowski at gronowskia@michigan.gov or at 517-643-2114.
