'Evidence Boot Camp' offered in person

The Criminal Defense Association of Michigan will present "Evidence Boot Camp D" in person Friday, May 13, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the offices of the Oakland County Bar Association, 1760 S. Telegraph Rd., #100, in Bloomfield Twp.

This program offers hands-on small group skills training. Attendees do not have to take prior Boot Camps to attend this Boot Camp. Speaking at the training will be Bernard Jocuns and Glenn Simmington.

Jocuns is a trial attorney from Lapeer focusing on criminal defense and plaintiff's personal injury litigation. After receiving an Honorable Discharge from the U.S. Army, Jocuns received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from the Pennsylvania State University and law degree from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School. His law practice encompasses criminal defense with an emphasis on medical marijuana and DUI defense. Jocuns is an active member of the Marijuana Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan, Criminal Defense Attorneys of Michigan, Michigan Association for Justice, National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Michigan OWI Defense Attorneys, National College for DUI Defense, National Lawyers Guild, and the American Association for Justice.

Simmington opened his independent private practice in downtown Flint in 2014 after previous years of practice with the Flint firm of Cline, Cline, and Griffin PC. Simmington concentrates in the areas of general civil practice, criminal defense, both state and federal, and complex medico-legal matters. He has also represented many clients in the appeals process and has been involved for many years in constitutional rights litigation.
