Obituary: George A. Hilborn

GEORGE A. HILBORN - Funeral services are scheduled Monday, Jan. 7 for longtime product liability attorney George Allen Hilborn of Birmingham, who died Dec. 20 at the age of 77.

Hilborn had worked as the regional manager for in-house counsel at Michigan Mutual Liability. He also served as a staff attorney in the product liability section of Ford Motor Co.’s Office of General Counsel.

Since 1981, Hilborn worked in private practice, including the last 19 years as a partner at Hilborn & Hilborn PC. 

He was a member of the Oakland County Bar Association, the Michigan Association for Justiceand the American Association for Justice. 

The family will receive friends on Sunday, Jan. 6, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at A.J. Desmond Funeral Home, 32515 Woodward Ave. in Royal Oak. 

A memorial service was scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 7, at First United Methodist Church, 1589 West Maple Rd. in Birmingham.

Survivors include Hilborn’s wife of 53 years, Dianne; daughters Dr. Susan Hilborn McCutcheon and Joellyn Hilborn; and sons Craig and Bradley Hilborn; a sister, Janice Young, and four grandchildren.

Hilborn’s family requested that memorial tributes be made to Cass Community Social Services.
