The Pepper Hamilton softball team won the championship game in the Detroit Legal Softball League earlier this month, defeating M&C by a score of 16-2. The co-ed summer softball league, formerly known as the Detroit Legal News Downtown Baseball League, has crowned a champion since 1984. The league currently competes at Jayne Field in Detroit, but previously played at Belle Isle. According to team captain Kurt Kissling, Pepper Hamilton celebrated its 2nd league championship in a row, and 4th since 2011.
