Free Legal Aid Clinic series hosted by OCBA
Not everyone can afford to hire an attorney to answer their legal questions. That is why the Oakland County Bar Association (OCBA), in partnership with the D. Augustus Straker Bar Association and Oakland County Youth Assistance, will host three free Legal Aid Clinics throughout Oakland County during the month of October - Pro Bono Recognition month.
During these free clinics, attorneys and legal aid providers will be on site to provide basic legal information as well as brief advice and counsel in the areas of juvenile, family, probate, criminal, general civil and landlord/tenant matters. Oakland County residents with legal questions are urged to attend these clinics and speak with an attorney volunteer or a representative from Legal Aid and Defender Association or the Family Law Assistance Project.
Legal aid clinics will be held:
* Wednesday, Oct. 9, at the Southfield Public Library, 26300 Evergreen Rd.
* Tuesday, Oct. 15, at the Ferndale Public Library, 222 E. Nine Mile Rd.
* Tuesday, Oct. 22, at the Whitmer Human Resource Center Elementary School, 60 Parkhurst in Pontiac.
All clinics will run from 4:30 to 7 p.m.
To learn more about the clinics or to register, contact the OCBA at 248-334-3400.
