On Wednesday, December 6, Michael Altman-Tucker was sentenced after a Macomb County jury convicted the 27 year old of murder after a nine-day jury trial by Assistant Prosecutors Carmen DeFranco and Andrea Irons.
On Saturday, February 26, 2022, while Altman-Tucker was being removed from Dooley’s Bar in Roseville by security staff, Altman-Tucker shot and killed security staff member Julius Bing. A friend of Altman-Tucker was also struck with a stray bullet.
A Macomb County jury found Altman-Tucker guilty of Murder in the Second Degree (life felony), Assault with Intent to do Great Bodily Harm (10 year felony), and two counts of Felony Firearm (two year mandatory felony).
Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Joseph Toia sentenced Altman-Tucker to 25-50 years in prison for the Second Degree Murder conviction, 5-10 years for the Great Bodily Harm conviction, and two years to run consecutively on the Felony Firearm convictions.
“This sentencing sends a clear message: the taking of a life will not go unanswered. We owe it to the victim, the community, and the principles of a civilized society to hold those responsible accountable for their actions,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.
