Michigan speakers featured at NAPD virtual conference

“Rise. Resist. Represent. National Public Defense Virtual Conference” will take place Thursday to Saturday, March 14-16.

The online event will provide more than a dozen topic areas for the wide variety of professions and practice areas in public defense across the country.  There will be skills training, but also opportunities to explore innovations, systemic litigation, development research projects.  Participants will have the opportunity to network with thousands of colleagues who champion the right to counsel and for the opportunity and dignity of their clients.

Among those speaking at the virtual conference will be Erin Van Campen and  Kristin Lavoy of Neighborhood Defender Service of Detroit, Jonah Siegel of Michigan Indigent Defense Commission, and Nichole Jongsma Derks of the Ottawa County (MI) Office of the Public Defender.
