The 2026 Oakland County Circuit Court judicial election for the open seat will be a Family Docket designation.
Due to judicial term limits, Judge Martha Anderson’s seat on the Sixth Judicial Circuit Court will be open for election in November of 2026.
On January 1, 2027, a current member of the family division bench will be reassigned to the civil/criminal division and thus create an opening in the family division. The successful candidate in the November 2026 general election will assume the vacant family division docket. The prevailing candidate will be seated January 1, 2027.
Reassignments will occur at the end of December 2026. However, the court website (www.oakgov.com/circuit) will provide additional information on the docket changes as soon as practicable.
