Meet the Judges
The New Lawyers Committee of the Oakland County Bar Association hosted its “Meet the Judges” event on Thursday, April 16, at The Community House in Birmingham. Judges from the Oakland County district, probate, and circuit courts, along with judges from the Michigan Court of Appeals, Michigan Supreme Court, U.S. Bankruptcy Court, and U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Michigan, were invited to this annual event. Welcoming Michigan Court of Appeals Judge Matthew Ackerman (second from left) and Oakland County 52-3 District Court Judge Laura Polizzi (center) to the event were (left to right) NLC Chair Jacob Simon of Law Office of Jacob N. Simon, Moheeb Murray of Bush Seyferth PLLC, and NLC Vice-Chair Alexander Sheldon-Smith of Wayne County Friend of the Court. In addition to networking, attendees took part in this year’s silent auction which raised funds for Oakland County Foster Closet which helps reduce financial strain for foster families.
