Judge sentences woman who fled from police

Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido announced that Jennifer Roe, 48, of Clinton Township, was sentenced for fleeing from police while driving a stolen U-Haul truck.

On Tuesday, October 27,  Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Jennifer M. Faunce sentenced Roe, who pleaded no contest as charged on September 14, 2026. The charges include:

• Police Officer – Fleeing – Third Degree – Vehicle Code: A felony punishable by up to five years in prison

• Stolen Property – Receiving and Concealing – Motor Vehicle: A felony punishable by up to five years in prison

• Driving – Reckless: A misdemeanor punishable by up to 93 days in jail.

Faunce sentenced Roe to 24 months of probation and 110 days in the Macomb County Jail, with credit for 110 days served.

“We are fortunate that no one was injured as a result of the defendant’s reckless decision to flee from police. When drivers disregard lawful orders to stop and put the public and law enforcement officers at risk, the consequences can be devastating. Michigan needs mandatory minimum prison sentences for drivers who flee from police,” stated Prosecutor Lucido.

The charges stem from an incident on Thursday, May 28, 2026, when Roe was driving a stolen Dodge U-Haul truck and fled from police in a reckless manner. The pursuit ended when Roe crashed into another vehicle near Hall Road and Garfield Road.
