Lakeshore Legal Aid hosted its Pro Bono Appreciation event and fund-raiser Thursday, Oct. 26, at the Michigan Science Center in Detroit. During the event, the “Clean Slate” initiative led by the city of Detroit Law Department was honored. The initiative provides legal aid to eligible Detroiters who want to boost their chances of re-entering the work force by expunging their criminal records. On hand to receive the honor was Melvin Butch Hollowell (center), corporation counsel for Detroit. Happy to present the recognition were Lakeshore Legal Aid’s Executive Director William R. Knight Jr. (left) and Executive Director CEO Ashley E. Lowe (right).
